Funerals can be expensive, a recent survey in Australia indicated funerals can cost around $8,000 so prepaying in advance maybe expensive, but it can save your family from having to come up with such a large expensive amount at a time they just want to grieve.

Some funeral directors in Australia and other Funeral Bond companies may allow you to pay this amount off over time, this means in some instances you will not have to come up with all the money but by making regular contributions you can pay off your funeral. This works sometimes and may not others, you may die before such time as you can make all the payments meaning your loved ones will need to come up with the rest.
